Sri Lanka had signed an agreement with the China International Development Cooperation Agency to get a data forensic lab as part of foreign aid, China’s embassy in Colombo said.
Ambassador Deng Boqing, Vice Chairman of China International Development Cooperation Agency had visited Sri Lanka from April 04 to 07.
He had met Sri Lanka President and Minister of Finance Ranil Wickremesinghe, Minister of Transport and Highways Bandula Gunawardane, Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles, and Minister of Fisheries Douglas Devananda.
“They had in-depth discussions on enhancing China-Sri Lanka bilateral relations, promoting the pragmatic cooperation of the two countries and jointly implementing the Global Development Initiative, and exchanged views on China’s continued assistance to Sri Lanka in infrastructure construction, culture and education, and emergency humanitarian aid,” the statement on twitter.com said.
“Proposals of Chinese governmental assistance to the island on capacity building, various support to fishermen, railway upgrade, etc. were raised by Sri Lankan side and got positive response from the CIDCA delegation.”
Memoranda of understanding had been signed on Strengthening Development Cooperation and Promoting the Implementation of the Global Development Initiative, Implementing Emergency Humanitarian Assistance of which RMB 134 million was left.
