PPP dissolves organisations in GB

GILGIT, Aug 12: Pakistan People’s Party has dissolved all its organisations throughout the Gilgit-Baltistan region with the purpose to reorganise the party.

Sources told Dawn on condition of anonymity that the dissolution of the cabinets came as internal disputes among the office-bearers were on the rise.

The sources said the matter was brought to the notice of high command which took the step and asked the party workers to get ready for reorganisation purely on merit. The decision has pleased those fed up workers who were unable to find solution to their problems in the party.

Finance Minister Mohammad Ali Akhtar told media men that sincere workers would be brought to the fore and they would be given deserving place, which was denied to them in the past.

Jamil Ahmed, Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, said it was a good omen for the party to be reorganised at all levels.
