SUKKUR: A fierce gunbattle between the Kalhoro and Junejo communities of Shikarpur district on Saturday left three men dead and several others wounded.
The two sides have been embroiled in an old enmity, which has already claimed 15 lives.
In the latest incident, heavily armed men took up positions in their respective localities in Chabar village near the riverine area of Madeji town and fought a fierce battle.
Reports reaching here till late in the evening suggested that three persons, later identified as Rasool Bakhsh, Abdul Rahim and Rafiq Ahmed — all belonging to the Junejo community — lost their lives. Their bodies were collected and transported to the Madeji Taluka Hospital by police for a post-mortem examination.
