Former President Maithripala Sirisena has announced that he is willing to contest for the upcoming Presidential election.
Sirisena made the announcement during an appearance on the political program “360” aired on “TV Derana.”
“I have no difficulty in taking on the role once more,” Sirisena said.
“I am equipped with the experience gained during my previous presidency and I am ready to take on the role of president again.”
Sirisena also mentioned that he considers his period of governance to be successful, mentioning the positive reception he received internationally.
