Inquiry ordered into GB appointments

GILGIT, Sept 28: The Gilgit-Baltistan chief secretary Mohammad Yonus Dhaga has ordered an inquiry into the recruitments made in the local education department since 2008.

Relevant officials told Dawn on Saturday that there had been complaints that relatives of ministers and senior government officials were inducted through backdoor. They said that degrees of teachers would be verified to know whether proper procedures were followed in their appointments.

“Those who were given favour in sheer violation of law and merit will be fired after completing the due process,” said an official on condition of anonymity.

Meanwhile, the chief secretary also directed the works department to ensure timely completion of the ongoing development projects. He took serious note of delay in the projects.http://dawn.com/news/1046226/inquiry-ordered-into-gb-appointments
