Work on IP gas pipeline to start by year-end: by Fawad Yousafzai in the Nation, Feb 24, 2016

ISLAMABAD – Federal Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi yesterday said work on Iran-Pakistan pipeline would start by the end of the year and that he was going to visit Tehran next month.

“It will take some time as we have yet to find a financier and contractor for the project,” Petroleum and Natural Resources Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said, addressing a press conference.

Replying to a query regarding the gas pipeline project, the minister said, “Earlier, I was planning to go to Iran in February, but it was not materialised due to the LNG deal.”.

Replying to another query about including India in the proposed Iran-Pakistan pipeline, the minister said, “Now it is Pakistan-specific.” However, the minister said if India wanted to join it, another pipeline project would have to be started for the purpose. http://nation.com.pk/national/24-Feb-2016/work-on-ip-gas-pipeline-to-start-by-year-end
