report in Dawn, November 11th, 2020
BAJAUR: Two students of the Governor Model School and College were wounded here on Tuesday when the police beat them up during a protest demonstration against the college’s management for not waiving off the fee of the last six months when the institution remained closed due to the Covid-19-induced lockdown.

The incident occurred when scores of students, who have been protesting on the main Khar-Peshawar Road outside the Civil Colony Khar for an hour daily, blocked the artery to traffic on Tuesday.

Police personnel also arrived on the spot and asked them to lift the road blockade. However, the students refused and argued that holding protest was their legal right.

Eyewitnesses said the policemen started tear gas shelling against the protesting students to disperse them, injuring two.

The injured students were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Khar.

Later, the protesting students along with political and social activists also reached the hospital and staged a protest demonstration there.

The political and social activists strongly condemned the police action against the students. They said the policemen beat up the students with rifle butts.

The students along with activists later marched through the Khar Bazaar against the police action.https://www.dawn.com/news/1589699/two-hurt-as-police-beat-up-protesting-students-in-bajaur
