Taliban’s Zabul Commander Killed In Clash: by Faridullah Hussainkhail in Tolo News, ‘sep0t 17, 2016

Abdul Rahman, the Taliban’s commander for Zabul insurgency, was killed in a clash with security forces overnight Friday, security officials claimed in a statement.
According to officials the clash started on Friday night in Qalat city, the provincial capital, when the Taliban attacked a police check post.
One other Taliban insurgent was wounded, officials added.
Ghullam Jelani Farahi, Zabul police security chief, said that Rahman was responsible for the Taliban’s insurgency in the province and that he was reportedly behind recent insecurity in Zabul and for the planting of mines on the Kabul-Kandahar highway.
Meanwhile in a separate clash between Taliban and security forces in Paktia, Haqqani network’s local commander Qari Naqib was also reportedly killed and one other was wounded.
Naqibullah Attal, the provincial governor’s spokesman, said that the clash took place on Friday in Ahmadi Khail district of Paktia when dozens of Haqqani network insurgents attacked parts of the district.
According to Attal, the clashes lasted several hours and ended when insurgents fled the area.
