The Taliban government security authorities claim that the group’s forces have killed 4 ISIS militants including 2 commanders in the northeastern Afghan province of Takhar.
Qari Aminullah Tayeb, commander of the Taliban 217th Omari Army Corps in the Northeast Zone, was quoted as saying that they found an ISIS hideout in Takhar during a joint operation on Saturday, October 22, by the Taliban-controlled Bakhtar news agency.
ISIS 4 members, including 2 of their senior commanders, allegedly died in a village in Takhar province’s Dashti Qala district, according to Qari Aminullah, who made the claim in the report.
In a different statement on Saturday, the Taliban government claimed to have killed six ISIS members on Friday night in Kabul, the Afghan capital.
The people killed, the Taliban government claimed, were responsible for both the deadly assault on the Kaaj education center and the explosion that occurred close to the Wazir Muhammad Akbar Khan mosque in Kabul.
However, independent sources have not, to date, backed up the Taliban government’s assertions.
After the Taliban took over, ISIS continues to claim responsibility for deadly attacks against civilians. On the other hand, the Taliban reject the existence of terrorist organizations in Afghanistan, including ISIS.
