URUZGAN, Afghanistan – At least five Taliban killed and further four wounded during clashes with Afghan National Army (ANA) and Afghan Air Forces (AAF) in central province of Uruzgan, said the Ministry of Defense in a statement Monday morning.
According to the statement, the Taliban initially carried attacked against the security post, where they suffered heavy retaliation in Gizab district of the province.
“5 Taliban were killed and 4 others were wounded in Gizab district of Urzgan province, yesterday,” said MoD in a tweet.
“They were preparing to attack #ANDSF positions when they were targeted by ANA and AAF. Additionally, 1 tunnel and 2 of their strongholds were destroyed as a result,” the tweet added.
Meanwhile, in another news from Helmand, the ministry said at least four Taliban killed and three further injured in Nahri Saraj district of the province, adding a huge amount of their arms were wrecked during the battle.
“4 #Taliban were killed and 3 others were wounded in Nahri Saraj district of Helmand province, last night,” said MoD in a tweet. “Also, a large amount of their weapons were destroyed during reciprocal attacks of #ANA.”
