PESHAWAR: An army soldier was martyred in an exchange of fire with militants in Sararogha area of the South Waziristan tribal district on Tuesday, a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations said.
It said a fire exchange took place between troops and terrorists in general area Sararogha. “The troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location. However, during exchange of intense fire, Sepoy Ahmed Ali, 26, a resident of Charsadda district, having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom,” the statement said.
It said sanitisation operation was being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area.
