Senior Al-Qaeda Commander Killed in Zabul Drone Strike TOLOnews.com, May 18, 2016

A senior Al-Qaeda commander was killed in a foreign troops drone strike in southern Zabul province on Tuesday afternoon, Afghan special forces said in a statement.

The statement said that the drone strike took place in Shah Joy district of the province and the commander killed was Mohammad Ali.

Ali was a senior Al-Qaeda commander in Zabul and he was involved in the killing of dozens of civilians and military forces, read the statement.

However, the statement did not provide more details about the strike.

This comes after Shafiq Abbas, a senior Daesh commander, was killed in a foreign troops drone strike in eastern Kunar province on Monday.

The airstrike took place in Watapoor district of the province.
