Amrullah Saleh, the first vice president, announced the arrest of the mastermind of the attack on Kabul University.
Saleh wrote on his Facebook page Saturday, that “We said that ISIL is a name, those who have committed this have several identities: Hizb ut-Tahrir – Talib – ISIL, etc.”, and affiliate themselves to one whenever needed.
Saleh adds that Adil, son of Mohammad Aref is the prime mover of the attack, he studied at the Faculty of Sharia until the third year and was later recruited by Sanaullah, a member of the Haqqani Network.
He says he was told to do something to put pressure on the government, so the government notorious and appears weak and inefficient in people’s minds.
According to Adel’s neighborhood, he was away without a trace for three years, rumors spread quickly that he was gone to war or for some insurgency training out of the country.
Reports indicate, Adel is originally from Panjshir province and his family lives in Pul-e Charkhi.
He is reported to have obtained the weapons from the Haqqani network in Khost province and was taking orders from Sanaullah.
Tariq Arian, MoI spokesman confirmed the capture of Adil in a tweet.
The attack on Kabul University left more than 40 people wounded, and at least 22 others dead.
On the other hand, First Vice President Marallah Saleh says, that security guards belonging to one of the Parliament members, planned and tried to abduct a businessman.
Mr. Saleh said at an early morning meeting on Saturday, that the perpetrators had managed to escape, adding the “PM’s house was surrounded by security forces last night, but that the main originators escaped to hideout”.
The case will be formally sent to the prosecutor’s office by today, Saleh added.
Previously, when Saleh was the acting in charge of the Interior Ministry, he had hinted that some leaders of criminal gangs were prominent political figures.
