Jatiya Party Presidium Member and State Minister for Rural Development and Cooperatives Md Mashiur Rahman Ranga said the party might leave the cabinet at any moment.
The minister said this at a program celebrating the golden jubilee of Silonia Union High School in the Senbag upazila of Noakhali.
“JaPa will run in the next elections as an unaffiliated party with candidates for 300 constituencies,” he said.
Saying that JaPa is the biggest party in the country right now, Mashiur said: “JaPa is the flagship party of the 14-party alliance. Its vote count is essential to every election. If the government does not pay heed to our opinions at the elections, we will leave the cabinet.”
President of the school’s organizing committee Jasim Uddin Chowdhury presided, with special guests Lawmaker Morshed Alam, Senbag upazila JaPa Convener Hasan Manzur, ZA Group Chairman Zafar Ahmed Chowdhury, etc. speaking at the event.
