Police killed in A Clash with Public Uprising Forces, Faryab Province

Local officials in Faryab province say a policeman was killed in a clash between police and the public uprising members.

Abdul Karim Yuresh, a spokesman to Faryab police HQ, said that the clash took place on Saturday, in the center of the Qaisar district of the province.

Yuresh added that a policeman was killed as a result of the clashes in the Qaisar district of the province.

He said a public uprising force member was also wounded during the skirmish.

The public uprising units, also known as the local police, has been able to provide security in parts of Afghanistan, but recently, there have been many complaints against these forces.

In another incident, two public uprising force members were killed and four others were wounded, when gunmen opened fire on them.

The incident happened in Gardiz city of Pakita province on Saturday night, local officials confirmed to the media.

Provincial police blamed the Taliban for the attack, and that the attackers wore burqas before opening fire on the local uprising forces.

No group or individual have claimed responsibility for the attack.
