MIANWALI: The Mianwali police had another encounter with militants on Monday. No police personnel was injured in the operation.
According to police sources, the police received information about the presence of one dozen militants in the hilly area of
Makarwal, adjacent to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
District Police Officer Motiullah Khan formed teams consisting of police stations of Makarwal, Isakhel, Qamar Mushani and
Kalabagh.
As police parties approached the Naz Pakistan mines in the Lamshiwal hilly area, the militants opened indiscriminate fire. The
police teams responded, and additional personnel also joined them.
The encounter continued for a couple of hours and militants escape in the darkness.
A few days ago, militants had attacked a police post in Kundal, resulting in the martyrdom of one policeman and the death of
two militants. A few months ago, the militants also carried out an attack in the same area at the Makarwal police
