Police Busted Two Over Target Killings And Assassinations: Kabul

The Interior Ministry said in a statement, that Two people have been arrested in connection with targeted assassinations by security forces in Kabul’s Qarabagh district.

A Special Operations Unit of the police has arrested two members of the Taliban who were involved in targeted assassinations in the Qarabagh district of Kabul, MoI said in a statement on Saturday.

The detainees have long been implicated in planning and organizing terrorist attacks, particularly targeted assassinations of government employees in the Qarabagh district, the statement said.

Also, according to the Ministry of Interior, special police units carried out a joint operation in Farkhar district of Takhar province, detaining two irresponsible gunmen along with a pistol, two AK-47s, a hand grenade launcher, and some ammunition.

Targeted assassinations of security personnel and personnel have increased dramatically in the country recently.

In another incident Ataullah Khogyani, the Nangarhar governor’s spokesman told the media that Afghan Air Force (AAF) targeted the Taliban’s hideouts in the Zavi area of the Khogyani district.

He added, 14 armed militants, including their commander “Abdul Qudus”, were killed in the airstrike, a Toyota vehicle, heavy machine guns, and other weapons belonging to the fighters were damaged in the strike.
