Pro-BNP lawyers yesterday said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be held responsible and be made accused if unfortunate anything happen to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia for not allowing her to go abroad for treatment.
“This government does not understand democracy, rule of law and human rights, and does not want the people’s relief and welfare other than its party men’s development…The prime minister, as the head of a political party, please don’t take revenge against the chief of another party,” Advocate Zainul Abedin, also BNP chairperson’s advisor, said.
He was addressing to a meeting organized by United Lawyers Front (ULF), a platform of lawyers dominated by pro-BNP practitioners, near the main gate of the Supreme Court demanding the government’s permission allow Khaleda Zia to go abroad for her better treatment.
BNP’s Law Secretary Kayser Kamal said told the meeting that a criminal case will be filed if anything unfortunate happens to Khaleda Zia.
Sheikh Hasina will be made No 1 accused, Law Minister Anisul Huq and Attorney General AM Amin Uddin will be made No -2 and 3 accused of the case, he added.
