Pakistan Envoy Claims TTP in Afghanistan:

Report in TOLOnews Online, Dec 07, 2023 at 8:49 PM
Asif Durrani, Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, accused the Islamic Emirate of hosting the TTP in Afghanistan, and said that the attacks of the TTP have increased by 65% on the Pakistan border.

Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan claimed that 14 of the 24 attacks by TTP this year were carried out by Afghans.

He has openly said that TTP has a sanctuary in Afghanistan.

“Attacks by TTP on Pakistan’s border areas has increased 65% while suicide attacks increased by 500% only during this year. Another worrying aspect of these attacks has been the enrollment of Afghans, out of 24 attacks by the TTP, 14 were Afghan nationals. The TTP’s enhanced attacks on Pakistan while using Afghan soil has been a serious source of concern for Pakistan,” Asif Durrani said.

Meanwhile, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, the caretaker PM of Pakistan also said that Pakistan has not had official talks with the caretaker government of Afghanistan about the TTP.

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar worried about the equipment left in Afghanistan.

“Pakistan has not had official talks with the caretaker government of Afghanistan about the TTP, and Pakistan’s policy regarding TTP is clear. We consider this group the enemy of Pakistan’s security,” Kakar added.

But the Islamic Emirate once again pledged that the Afghan soil will never be used against other countries.

“Afghanistan is not a place for anyone to use its soil against Pakistan or other countries. We are serious in this issue and we do not let anyone use our soil against other countries,” said Zabihullah Mujahid.

Analysts called Pakistan’s claim an irresponsible action against the Islamic Emirate.

“Pakistan has always adopted a method to put political pressure on the Islamic Emirate and linked it to the deportation of Afghan immigrants, but we do not think that TTP belongs to us,” said Moeingul Samkanai, a political analyst.

Earlier, some Pakistani officials also claimed that TTP and other terrorist groups have sanctuary on Afghanistan’s soil, a claim that has always been rejected by the Islamic Emirate.
