ARY, a Pakistani media outlet, cited a report of the country’s Counter Terrorism Department that claimed 92 terrorists who were arrested for their alleged involvement in terror incidents in two years were Afghan nationals, and “terrorists of Afghan origin carried out 50 terror attacks in 2023 across Pakistan.”
But the Islamic Emirate denied the allegations, saying Pakistan must share evidence with the interim Afghan government to prove that the Afghan nationals are involved in the incidents.
As reported by the ARY, the CTD’s report also claimed that Afghans were “involved in “19 terror attacks in 2022 and 14 extortion incidents were assisted by Afghan Nationals whereas 10 of them have been arrested.”
“If the Afghans are detained in connection to any incident there [Pakistan], it doesn’t mean that this [incidents in Pakistan] is the will of all people of Afghanistan or its government. We have also had in the past years operations against Daesh. We have eliminated or detained 42 Pakistani nationals affiliated with Daesh” said Zabiullah Mujahid, Islamic Emirate’s spokesman.
Pakistan has made constant allegations that the Afghan soil is used against its soil since the Islamic Emirate came to power.
“Pakistan has always accused the Afghans. It [Pakistan] has always sought hostility with the governments of Afghanistan” said Yousuf Amin Zazai, military analyst.
“Pakistan throws its snow on Afghanistan. It [Pakistan] has become famous in the world for these [terrorism] pretexts,” said Hadi Qureshi, military analyst.
Earlier, Pakistani media reported the arrest of 9 suspects in the Dera Ismail Khan suicide attack in this country, citing the Pakistan Counter-Terrorism Department, and added that six of the facilitators in Pakistan are from Afghanistan.
