Jessore: Police on Monday evening arrested a suspected member of banned militant outfit New JMB, and seized a large amount of bomb-making materials from a hideout in Jessore City.
The detained militant was identified Muzzaffor. Jessore Police Superintendent Anisur Rahman confirmed the matter to reporters at a press briefing at around 10pm.
Quoting officials from the Special Branch of Police Headquarters, the police super said enough bomb-making materials were recovered from the militant den to make more than 50 grenades. This included a large quantity of explosive gel, detonators, 57 circuits, 5 litres of acid, one pistol, three magazines, four bullets and three knives.
He added that Muzaffar had a wife, Razia, and three daughters. The younger two daughters and Razia stay in the area, while the eldest daughter is married and lives with her husband. Razia works in tailoring.
When asked if the suspected militant’s family members would be brought in for questioning, Police Super Anisur said such details would be revealed after further investigation and a case had been filed.http://www.dhakatribune.com/bangladesh/nation/2017/10/23/jessore-militant-bomb-materials/
