ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League (PMLN) Quaid Nawaz Sharif will approach the Islamabad High Court (IHC) today (Wednesday) through his counsel for procuring protective bail, undertaking to contest cases pending in the learned court/s subsequently.
A PMLN legal team has been constituted under former law and justice minister Senator Azam Nazir Tarar that also includes Amjad Pervez, Advocate. The team has tweaked the strategy and petitions that would be submitted in the court on Nawaz’s behalf.
Tarar told The News Tuesday evening that he would appear before the IHC on Wednesday. He said that details of the petition and relevant strategy would be known once the petition is filed.
Besides filing an appeal for protective bail, appeals in other cases would also be submitted subsequently.
Nawaz is currently in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. He will be travelling to Abu Dhabi tomorrow (Thursday) before embarking for Pakistan on Saturday morning (October 21).
The sources said that four petitions have been choreographed for seeking relief in different cases. The cases known as Al-Azizia, Avenfield and Toshakhana are pending. The appeals will be submitted before the IHC following the petition for protection
