MWM rejects narrative of PDM parties

Report in Dawn, Jan 3rd, 2021
KARACHI: Majlis-i-Wahdat-i-Muslimeen Pakistan secretary general Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari has warned that the “crisis” in Pakistan is benefiting the US, Israel and India.

He asked the opposition parties to resolve differences with the government through talks instead of agitation.

He expressed these views while addressing a press conference in Karachi on Saturday, according to a statement issued here.

He said Pakistan’s geostatic location makes it important in the global geopolitical landscape on one hand and on the other, the prime location also brings Pakistan under dangers.

“The US and proponents of greater Israel also eye Pakistan and instability in Pakistan suits them.”

Therefore, he said that the MWM rejected narrative of the PDM parties.

He lamented that the Maulana Fazlur Rehman-led PDM leaders were speaking the language of “enemies” of the country.

He warned that it would not benefit the nation and the country.

He suggested that the opposition needed to sort out differences with the government through dialogue.

He said they might discuss all issues with the government in parliament, including the National Assembly and the Senate.

Allama Raja Nasir also proposed to them to form a shadow government to keep watch on the government’s performance.

However, he also reminded the opposition that they too had failed to train their workers to serve the nation. Hence, the MWM called for training of political workers.

Moreover, he said that the opposition parties’ leadership must remember that political crisis and ouster of the government would not benefit them.

However, he said that all issues which people face must be redressed at the earliest.

For resolving public’s problems, the opposition should also do homework first, he added.

He said that the MWM supports shift in foreign policy. He claimed that Pakistan was moving out of US-led bloc and joining the Russian bloc.

He said that Afghan policy cost Pakistan dearly due to US-led bloc.

Allama Raja Nasir said that Shia Muslims suffered the most as compared to any other community due to war in Afghanistan.

He said even churches had not remained safe after mosques and Imambargahs.

He said the MWM had not yet made electoral alliance or adjustment with any party. It would take independent decision keeping in view the ground reality of the constituencies concerned, he added.
