Karachi: The acting convener of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) coordination committee, Nadeem Nusrat, on Friday strongly criticized the elements denying existence of Islamic State even after the outfit’s increasing involvement in terror activities across the country.
In a statement issued from the party’s London Secretariat, Nusrat said the elements denying the presence of ISIS should be ashamed at their foolishness, especially after the recent wave of terror activities in Karachi and Islamabad.
He said it had been the MQM chief Altaf Hussain who had years ago warned the nation against the ongoing Talibanisation, especially in Karachi, and had also pointed out their pockets of influence but the religious leadership at that time had poked fun at him.
He said it had been at least one-and-a-half years ago that the MQM chief had again warned of recruitment being conducted by the ISIS for terror activities in the country. However, instead of acting against the criminals involved, the federal and provincial governments ha categorically denied the existence of the terrorist outfit.
