MoD Concerned Over Infiltration By Enemy by Abdul Wali Arian in Tolo News, May 19, 2016 at 0923hrs

Afghan Ministry of Defense has raised concerns about the infiltration of the enemy into the ranks of the security forces but say a new strategy will be implemented to counter this problem.

At a recent National Security Council (NSC) meeting, President Ashraf Ghani ordered the immediate implementation of the strategy to fight this problem.

According to officials, the NSC recently approved the strategy.

“The influence of the enemy in the security forces is really dangerous. But with special methods and systems that exist for admission of security forces we will prevent the infiltration of the enemy,” said Habibulrahman Afzal, MoD deputy spokesman.

One MP, Gul Pacha Majidi, said: “The influence of the enemy can help the enemy get intelligence information and they [terrorists] conduct terrorist attacks against forces. And even sometimes cause security force battles to fail.”

Meanwhile military analysts raised concerns over the consequences of such actions.

“If the strategy is not implemented there will be no benefit. And the worse situation for security forces is when the enemy breaches them and in fact will destroy the forces’ foundation,” said Attiqullah Amarkhail, a military analyst.http://www.tolonews.com/en/afghanistan/25357-mod-concerned-over-infiltration-by-enemy
