NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Masked men slaughtered a man and gunned down another in separate incidents in North Waziristan tribal district here on Sunday.
According to local residents and government officials, armed men covering their faces entered a local mosque in Barmand area of Datakhel tehsil during prayer time and took hostage all the worshipers at gunpoint. Later, they whisked away one Eid Mir Khan and slit his throat with a sharp weapon.
Meanwhile, unknown miscreants shot dead a man, namely Umar Daraz, in Chota Dattakhel area of Spinwam tehsil. The police said the accused wearing masks managed to escape after committing the crime. The body of the deceased was shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Mirali, for postmortem, and later handed over to family.
