KHUZDAR: A senior Levies official survived a roadside IED blast, but a civilian was hit by its splinters and died on the spot in the Juhan area of Kalat district on Wednesday.
Officials said unknown miscreants had planted the improvised explosives device at the roadside to target the vehicle of the Levies officer, but he passed through the area without any loss.
“The IED exploded when a man, identified as Habib Bangulzai, was passing through the area on his motorcycle. He suffered serious injuries and died on the spot,” Khaliqabad assistant commissioner said.
