GHALANAI: The slaughtered body of a missing army recruit was found in the Darwazgai area of Mohmand tribal region on Monday, officials said.
Hayat Khan, a soldier of the Punjab regiment at Mardan centre who had been on leave, was kidnapped from the Shanow Ghundi area of Ekkaghund tehsil on Sunday night.
The body was taken to the Shabqadar hospital before being handed over to relatives.
Soon after the incident security forces conducted a search operation in adjacent areas of Ekkaghund, but no arrest was made.
Last week, a subedar of Khasadar force and another security man were kidnapped from the same area. They, too, were found dead.
SUICIDE: A woman reportedly committed suicide in Pandiali tehsil of Mohmand Agency on Monday, officials said.
Local residents said that the woman — identified as the wife of Sajjad Khan, a resident of Aali Dad Jangi Tabar in Pandiali tehsil — injured herself by shooting with a pistol. She was taken to hospital, but could not survive.
Some domestic dispute is said to have led the woman to take her life. Apart from her husband, she has left a two-year-old son and a three-year-old daughter.
