Khulna: A Khulna court yesterday sent an officer-in-charge of Patiya Police Station of Chittagong, who was closed to the police lines, to jail after he surrendered to it in a case filed for torturing his wife mentally and physically.
Rafayut Ullah Choudhury, was closed after his wife Nasrin Akhter Ruma filed the case on January 18. On March 7, the court issued an arrest warrant against him.
Ruma on Saturday at a press conference alleged that Rafayut had illicit relationships and was involved with Yaba pill trading, and was threatening her to withdraw the case.
