The Afghanistan envoy to Islamabad was summoned to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday in response to a recent terrorist attack. They were tasked with ensuring action against groups in Afghanistan conducting terrorist attacks against Pakistan.
The attack targeted a security forces convoy in Bannu district on Sunday, allegedly carried out by an Afghan national.
Pakistan has claimed that the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group has taken responsibility for this attack.
Pakistan’s demand from Afghanistan’s envoy includes ensuring a thorough investigation into the incident and taking action against the culprits.
Additionally, Pakistan emphasized the need for immediate, verifiable actions against all terrorist groups operating from Afghanistan.
Pakistan has requested Afghanistan to apprehend and extradite Hafiz Gul Bahadar, the leader of the responsible group.
Bahadar was once associated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan but has reportedly distanced himself recently.
Currently, the Taliban administration has not issued any comments regarding this matter.
The incident highlights the tension and concerns over cross-border terrorism between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Diplomatic efforts are underway to address the issue and promote regional stability.
