A 7-member delegation from the Iranian Parliament led by Javad Karimi Ghodoosi discussed the issues of economy, security and Afghan refugees as well as diplomacy with the Islamic Emirate’s deputy of the Interior Ministry.
The spokesman for the Interior Ministry, Abdul Matin Qani, said that the deputy minister, Noor Jalal Jalali stressed in the meeting that Iran has never used the Afghan refugees’ presence on its soil for political pressure on Afghanistan.
“The Interior Ministry also called for good relations, diplomacy, economy and trade relations. Also, we stressed that engagements across the border should be based on laws and rules,” he said.
The delegation of the Iran parliament arrived in Afghanistan on Saturday.
“Our neighboring countries, Pakistan and Iran, have always had their demands of us but have never observed our wishes,” said Abdul Qadir Qanat, a political analyst.
This comes as the Iran embassy in Kabul said on X platform (formerly known as Twitter) that the delegation met with the acting Minister of Industry and Commerce and discussed bilateral trades.
“If any foreign country invests in Afghanistan. It will create jobs for our people particularly in the mining sector,” said Khanjan Alokozai, a member of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI).
