The embassy of Iran in Kabul pledges to bring further facilities for Afghan traders in a bid to improve trade ties between the two neighboring countries.

The embassy said that the traders can get their visas in a short time.

“The Afghan traders can directly refer to the diplomatic missions and receive their visas for passenger and business visas, on time,” said Sayed Abbas Badrifar, head of the embassies’ press affairs.

The Afghan traders called for their challenges to be solved in the area of trade and transit with Iran.

Challenges are “the transaction of money to Iran and from Iran to Afghanistan and also other problems. We want the governments of Afghanistan and Iran to hold a meeting and find a good solution,” said Zalmai Azimi, a trader.

“Facilitating the issuance of visas is good but many challenges still remain. There is no big trade engagement between the two sides to balance the rate of trade,” said Mahbobullah Mohammadi, a trader.

Meanwhile, officials within the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), said that the Afghanistan’s trade rate reached more than $1 billion annually.

“We have more than $1 billion, or more than that in imports, but we have $35 million in exports in return,” said Mohammad Younus Momand, deputy of the executive board of the ACCI.

Earlier, the ACCI said that a joint chamber of investment between Iran and Afghanistan will be established in the ongoing solar year.
