Imran cries foul over upcoming GB polls

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan claimed on Sunday not only would he stand victorious in the upcoming Azad Kashmir election, but also succeed in next general election in spite of whatever tricks Nawaz Sharif employs.

Speaking to media on Sunday flanked by PTI Azad Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mehmood, Khan lamented that a dictator conducted local bodies’ election in the country but political parties opposed the polls, concentrating all the powers in their hands. I am going to introduce a new local bodies system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he added.

He accused Nawaz Sharif of hiring his own umpire for election in Gilgit Baltistan. Imran Khan said rigging had started in Gilgit Baltistan that he would not allow and would take to street.

He said acting Governor Barjis Tahir was a PML-N leader who had announced a development fund before election. Imran Khan said sense of deprivation was increasing in the small provinces while people of Gilgit-Baltistan had been turned into second-rate citizens.

The former cricket hero also took exception to horse-trading in the upcoming Senate election. To a question, he said that a female leader of his party was not awarded ticket for the Senate election as his party had decided to boycott the polls from Punjab. He also criticized the N-League for awarding tickets from Punjab to its members from other provinces.

Speaking on the occasion Sultan Mehmood said that more than 50 politicians from AJK belonging N-League, Q-League and the Pakistan People’s Party wouldl join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

He said that efforts were being made to postpone Mirpur by-election for fear of PTI.http://www.thenews.com.pk/article-175965-Imran-cries-foul-over-upcoming-GB-polls
