Gunshots fired at Sadiqabad police station

RAWALPINDI: Police officials narrowly escaped when an unidentified person fired gunshots at Sadiqabad police station before dawn on Monday and escaped.

Police have registered a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act on the complaint of ASI Mohammad Saleem, and launched investigation.

The complainant said he was sitting in his room when he heard the sound of a gunshot, following which, he rushed to the muharar’s office and observed that two gunshots had been fired from outside the window of the police station.

However, the police officials, including the muharar narrowly escaped the gun attack.

Separately, a young man was stabbed to death by his rival over a petty dispute in a snooker club in Airport Police area on Monday.

Mohammad Rafiq, resident of Liaquat Colony Chakri Road complained to police that his nephew Adnan Shabir had been residing in a snooker club and had been working with a motorcycle rental company these days.

He said at about 2am, Adnan and Adeel had a brawl in the club, following which, he along with some other persons drove to the club and found Adnan badly injured and screaming in the street.

The injured succumbed to his injuries while he was being shifted to the hospital.

Police have registered a murder case and started raids to arrest the alleged killer.
