Gov’t, Political Leaders Blast Pakistan For Supporting War In Afghanistan by Gulabudin Ghubar in Tolo News, Apr 1, 2016

A number of high ranking government officials and political leaders on Friday blasted Pakistan for what they said was their support of the war in Afghanistan.

Speaking at the first death anniversary of Hakmatullah Haqmal, the former police chief of Gereshk district in Helmand province, a Council of Protection and Stability in Afghanistan member Mohammad Omar Daoudzai said that Pakistan has imposed several demands on Afghanistan, demands the current government is not able to respond to.

“Pakistan has its own demands which are not in our capacity to respond to and nor will the next government be capable of responding to, so requests to Pakistan are useless,” Daoudzai said.

Ahmad Zia Massoud, Ghani’s special envoy for reform and good governance said that in every part of the country Taliban are fighting, they are terrorists and resistance councils should be formed against them.

Massoud blamed circles within government for being the main reason for the spread of corruption in the country.

“Today those Taliban are fighting in Badakhshan, Kabul, Mazar, Kandahar and Helmand and all those who are involved in our country’s instability are terrorists and they do not belong to any tribe of Afghanistan,” Massoud said.

“Criminals and mercenaries, Taliban knows that war is not the solution, come and stand beside your nation. If you want to reach your goals by force, through strangers and Pakistan’s ISI, these are ominous purposes,” said Bismillah Mohammadi former Defense Minister.

Guests at the event continued to criticize government and accused it of incompetence.

“More than 1,500 cases are lying at the Attorney General’s Office, which are then sent to different anti-corruption institutions but nothing is done about them,” Massoud added.

“Our government has lots of defects and lots of problems and weaknesses but still this government is better than a power vacuum,” Daoudzai added.

The participants said that there are people inside the system woking to kill influential people.

“Every day our commanders in different provinces are being killed, not only by Taliban but also from inside the system. Our commanders are being targeted,” said Juma Khan Hamdard Hezbi-e-Islamic party member.

Those present at the event did however deny rumors about the collapse of provinces and said that 352,000 government forces, in coordination with people, are able to defend the country.http://www.tolonews.com/en/afghanistan/24533-govt-political-leaders-blast-pakistan-for-supporting-war-in-afghanistan
