Govt asked to set up Kashmir desk at foreign missions: Report in the News, Oct 6, 2016

ISLAMABAD: An in-camera meeting of the Senate Committee of the Whole House held in Islamabad on Wednesday recommended the government to adopt an aggressive policy on India.

The in-camera meeting was held here at the Parliament House with Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani in the chair.Members urged the government to appoint a full-fledged foreign minister to highlight the Kashmir issue properly.

It was also recommended in the policy guidelines to establish Kashmir desks at foreign missions and contact India’s secular parties.The Senate Draft Committee presented its report on policy guidelines in the meeting. The committee has recommended the government in the policy guidelines to shun an apologetic policy viz-a-viz India and adopt an aggressive policy to expose the aggressive designs of India.

It also recommended that the Pakistan missions in foreign countries should be activated to apprise the world of about the aggressive designs of India. Chairman Senate told the meeting that DG ISI had informed about his absence from the meeting due to engagements. He said that he would attend the next meeting of the committee.
