Fresh violence claims lives of 10 soldiers, 61 militants: MoD By KHAAMA PRESS – Sat Aug 06 2016

At least 10 Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers lost their lives in the latest counter-terrorism operations across the country in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said Saturday.
According to a statement by MoD, the operations were conducted in Helmand, Khost, Nangarhar, Ghazni, Kunar, Logar, Uruzgan, and Farah province.
The statement further added 61 militants were killed, 53 others including the 13 were wounded during the same operations.
At least 13 of the militants were killed in Nad-e-Ali district of Helmand, 13 others were killed in Moosa Khel district of Khost, and 21 loyalists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group were killed in Achin district of Nangarhar.
According to MoD, at least 10 Taliban insurgents were killed during a separate operation in Andar district of Ghazni province and 4 others were killed in separate raids in Kunar, Logar, Uruzgan and Farah provinces.
The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the reports so far.
This comes as the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) are busy conducting their annual counter-terrorism operations across the country.
The annual operation ‘Shafaq’ was launched in response to Taliban’s annual spring offensive which the group launched in mid-April this year.
Taliban launched their spring offensive despite ongoing peace efforts by the Afghan government to end the violence through reconciliation process. http://www.khaama.com/fresh-violence-claims-lives-of-10-soldiers-61-militants-mod-01653
