At least five Talibs including their commander, Mullah Satar, were killed in a security forces’ operation in southern Helmand province, provincial police said in a statement on Monday.
The operation was launched in Sangin district of the province after the insurgents tried to place roadside mines on the highway in the district, according to the statement.
The statement said that Satar had been responsible for placing roadside mines for the Taliban in the north of Helmand province.
