ISLAMABAD: Unknown assailants abducted the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) assistant commissioner from his office in Shikarpur, Pakistan Today learned on Tuesday.
Sukkar regional tax office has communicated to the police that AC Muhammed Yakoob Rajper has been kidnapped by unknown assailants from the office of Deputy Commissioner Inland Revenue (DC IR), Shikarpur.
LDC Noor Mohammed said that at about 4 PM, four unknown persons in a Suzuki Cultus entered the office premises and parked the vehicle at the main entrance of the office to block it.
Two persons came out of the vehicle and introduced themselves as staff of Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO) and asked about the AC of Inland Revenue.
They claimed that the superintendent engineer of SEPCO was waiting in the car to meet Rajper. The message was conveyed to Rajper, who called the supposed superintendent engineer into the office. The ‘superintendent engineer’ and one other person therein blocked the door to the office.
In about ten minutes, they took Rajper in his official car, with license plate GP-5642, and drove away. The office staff tried to contact Rajper, on his cell phone but it could not be reached.
