ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman will visit Kabul in the coming days on the special invitation of Afghan government, it has been learnt.
The invitation was officially handed over by the Ambassador of Afghanistan to Pakistan, Sardar Ahmed Khan Shakib, in a meeting at Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence in Islamabad on Saturday.
The two dignitaries discussed the Pak-Afghan relations, recent wave of terrorism in Pakistan and return of Afghan citizens staying illegally in Pakistan. Former MNA Maulana Salahuddin Ayubi was also present on the occasion.
According to the sources, Maulana Fazlur Rehman may be given the responsibility to discuss the issue of TTP with the Taliban government in Kabul.
It should be noted that many Afghan students who have studied at religious madrassas in Pakistan are currently playing an important role in the Taliban government and TTP.
Sources claimed they respected Fazl.
