Delay in rehab work irks Saudi official: by Roshan Mughal in the Nation, January 29, 2016

MUZAFFARABAD – A Saudi official has expressed concern over the delay in the completion of development projects funded by the Kingdom for earthquake-affected areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Abdullah Alshauhabi, chief engineer Saudi Development Fund, expressed displeasure over the non-completion of district headquarters complex at Rawalakot.

During his visit to the site along with Deputy Chairman ERRA Brigadier Abu Bakar Ameen Bajwa, and other government officials, he took serious notice of the delay in the construction of the complex and ordered the cancellation of the contract of Karachi-based construction company and set six-month deadline for the completion of the project for a Saudi Arabia-based consultant firm accompanying him from the Kingdom.

The Saudi Development Fund chief engineer earlier inaugurated the district judicial complex Rawalakot, government boys degree college Hajira and Women Education University Bagh which have been constructed with the Saudi Development Fund of worth Rs 0.54 billion. Meanwhile, Abdullah also visited Muzaffarabad where he inaugurated science and computer labs modern security and solar system at the Government Fatimah Jinnah Post Graduate Girls College Madina Market which was also rebuilt by the Saudi funding.
