Daesh launches Dari-language program on ‘Voice of the Caliphate’ in Nangarhar KHAAMA PRESS, Jan 28 2016, 10:23 am

The loyalists of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) which is locally known by its Arabic name Daesh launched a radio in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan about three months before .

They would broadcast Pashto language programs through the radio named ‘Khilafat Ghag Radio’ or ‘Voice of the Caliphate’.

But the group has now begun its programs in Dari language as well.

The ‘Voice of the Caliphate’ has two hours of broadcasting in Dari language on daily basis.

The signal of the radio could be received in the provincial capital ‘Jalalabad city’ and a number of districts including Shinwar.

Ataullah Khogyani, spokesperson for the governor of Nangarhar province says that Daesh radio is active in areas of Shinwar District which are on the border with Pakistan.

According to Khogyani, the radio station does not have a permanent location and changes every hour across the border.

However, Pakistan claims that ‘Voice of the Caliphate’ is being operated from Afghan soil and its signals go far into areas of tribal belt on the border with Afghanistan.

Programs of the radio are propaganda-base trying to recruit fighters to stand with Daesh against the government.http://www.khaama.com/daesh-launches-dari-language-program-on-voice-of-the-caliphate-in-nangarhar-4526
