Cyber tech to reduce reaction time for quick response: COAS Report in The Nation, Nov 9, 2016

ISLAMABAD –  Commander Royal Saudi Air Force Major General Mohammed Bin Saleh Al Otaibi called on Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif here on Tuesday.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), matters of professional interest and regional security were discussed during the meeting.

Later, Major General Mohammed Bin Saleh Al Otaibi met with Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Rashad Mahmood in Rawalpindi.

During the meeting, matters pertaining to professional interest and regional security came under discussion.

General Mohammed Bin Saleh acknowledged the Pakistan’s sacrifices in war against terrorism.

Saudi Air Chief Mohammad bin Saleh Al-Otaibi also visited Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Headquarters in Islamabad.  During the visit, he met with Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sohail Aman and discussed bilateral relations and matters of professional interest.

The Saudi Air Chief said that Saudi Arabia will always stand by Pakistan in difficult times. He appreciated the role of Pakistan Air Force in the war against terrorism.

Sohail Aman said that the Pakistan Air Force and Saudi Royal Air Force enjoy close professional relations. He said Pakistan Air Force will continue to extend training facilities to the personnel of Royal Saudi Air Force. The Saudi delegation was given a detailed briefing on the organisational structure of Pakistan Air Force.

Earlier, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif spent night in the field near Kharian and witnessed the troops from Central Command carrying out night and dawn operations as part of the Army Field Exercises.

The exercises were aimed at validating the latest operational plans involving infantry and mechanised troops and their support elements from the entire Central Command, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated in a press release here on Tuesday.

Apart from first ever use of fully digitised virtual Command and Control Room, the exercise saw the first formal employment of indigenously developed Mine Dispensing System.

The troops of Special Service Group (SSG) participated with most impressive high altitude drop by their free fall paratroopers.

While speaking to officers and men on the occasion, General Raheel said the Army Field Exercise had fully achieved its objectives of validating updated operational plans integrated with the latest communication concepts and cyber technology to radically reduce reaction time for quick response.

He said: “Successful culmination of the Exercise has boosted our confidence in our combat readiness. Induction of numerous indigenously prepared systems manifests our growing technical prowess and self-reliance.

Our adversary must know while we have been fully occupied in a determined fight against terrorism across the country specially the western border, we have kept ourselves prepared to take on any misadventure or strategic miscalculation by our adversary.”
