CTD nails ‘Qaeda-affiliated’ woman; two escaped

GUJRANWALA: The Counter-Terrorism Department yesterday arrested an alleged woman terrorist, said to be Al-Qaeda Punjab affiliated, while her husband and son managed to flee the scene here on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, the Counter-Terrorism Department raided a house in Dhulley area.

The officials arrested a women identified as Farhat Siddiqa while her husband Abdul Rashid and son Imran succeeded in fleeing the scene.

The Counter-Terrorism Department officials also recovered 1-kg explosive material and detonators from the house.

According to the Counter-Terrorism Department officials, the accused are affiliated with Al-Qaeda Punjab, adding that teams have been constituted for the arrest of the fleeing accused.
