The CPN (Unified Socialist) on Tuesday morning decided to vote in favour of the trust motion by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
A secretariat meeting of the party decided to support the government, said spokesperson Jagannath Khatiwada.
“The party has decided to conditionally support the government but remain in the opposition,” said spokesperson Khatiwada.
The party has 10 members in the House of Representatives.
Prime Minister Dahal is seeking a vote of confidence in today’s meeting of the parliament as per the constitutional provision.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari appointed CPN (Maoist Centre) chair Dahal as prime minister on December 25 after he showed the support of 169 lawmakers.
As per the constitutional provision, a prime minister appointed under Article 76(2) needs to secure a vote of confidence from the parliament within 30 days of the appointment.
