CPC to strengthen its presence in primary and middle schools Xinhua report in Global Times, July 23, 2016

Communist Party of China (CPC) organizations at various levels have been told to strengthen “Party building” in elementary and middle schools and integrate their work into all aspects of education and school operations.

A circular jointly released Friday by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Ministry of Education said that Party organizations should effectively participate in school decision-making and supervision at schools.

“Party work’s key mission in these schools is to strengthen students’ morality education …  and guide faculty to strengthen political identification and their sense of obligation to foster talent,” it said.

It urged schools to establish Party groups based on each school’s size and number of Party members, stressing that equal attention should be paid to planning, implementation and evaluation of the schools’ Party work and education.

The document also encouraged the allocation of more education resources to schools in rural areas and those lacking a Party presence. http://www.globaltimes.cn/content/995953.shtml
