BNP’s 27-point ‘black deed’ of legitimating war criminals: JSD

report in Prothom Alo, 21 Dec 2022
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) has termed opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s 27-point demands as a “black deed” of legitimating war criminals, killers, radicals and militants and establishing political partnership with them behind the curtain of demanding political reform, reports news agency BSS.

The party on Tuesday said this in a statement signed by its president Hasanul Haq Inu and general secretary Shirin Akhter.

De facto opposition BNP has announced to reform the state as part of its ongoing movement to overthrow the government.

By giving the 27-point followed by 10-point, BNP again proved that their main target is to seize the state power again with the alliance of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, it said.

JSD leaders in the statement also said in the guise of their demand of constitutional amendment, BNP wants scrapping of the 15th amendment of the constitution making the settled issues of the great Liberation War and historical mass movements as unresolved.

They said BNP’s demand of both “Bangladeshi nationalism” and “Rainbow Nation” indicates its playing of double standard.

BNP’s demand of “national reconciliation” portrays its desire to legitimate the crimes against humanity committed in 1971, assassination of Bangladesh’s founding father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on 15 August, killings of four national leaders on 3 November, killings of freedom fighters and soldiers and 21 August grenade attacks. https://en.prothomalo.com/bangladesh/politics/o3215q3djb
