Jamaat-e-Islami has raised an allegation that the government is once again employing the strategy of mass arrest to cover up its failure to contain the spread of chikunguniya, a mosquito-borne viral infection.
Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Mujibur Rahman alleged: “The government is continuously arresting activists and leaders of Jamaat and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir to cover up its failure to control chikunguniya and floods in the country.”
He also alleged that law enforcers in the last two days have arrested the party’s seven activists and leaders including Jalal Uddin, a Jamaat leader in Rajhshahi.
Mujibur demanded release of the “arrested.” www.dhakatribune.com/bangladesh/politics/2017/07/11/jamaat-govt-arresting-jamaat/
