Army makes it clear ‘rats’ won’t be spared: report in Daily Times, 20-Oct-16

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has reportedly made it clear to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif corps commanders – during their recent meeting – emphasised that all characters found involved in leaking the security meeting’s minutes should be exposed.

The COAS also informed the premier that action would be taken against all those involved in sharing ‘details’ of the security meeting.

Reliable sources said the government had been exerting pressure on one of the close and old aides of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and an important supporter of Maryam Nawaz to take entire responsibility for the high-level security meeting’s leaks.

Due to this pressure, the “personality” has agreed to become an approver and spill the beans about the news publication saga and unveil all characters responsible for conveying notes of the important meeting to Cyril Alameda, the Dawn reporter. The person in question also has some disputes with Fawad Hasan Fawad, and he is a witness to the whole episode.

This has started causing immense problems for the PM’s daughter, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid, senior bureaucrat Fawad Hasan Fawad and Secretary to Prime Minister Mohiuddin Wani.

Sources also disclosed that the government was ready to sacrifice Pervaiz Rashid, Fawad Hasan and Mohiuddin Wani to save its skin. Most in the government circles believe that these three personalities actually leaked the inside story.

Sources said that when the premier was leaving Islamabad for Azerbaijan, Fawad Hasan also reached PAF Base Nur Khan to accompany the PM, but just before the flight, Nawaz called him and told him to go back to the PM’s Secretariat.

The sources said that Fawad and Mohiuddin Wani were well aware of what is coming for them in the near future, as the government is keeping an eye on their movement. However, the investigators probing the matter have reached the actual developers of this game, sources added. http://dailytimes.com.pk/islamabad/20-Oct-16/army-makes-it-clear-rats-wont-be-spared
