Afghan National Police discovered and defused at least 11 roadside mines in capital city Kabul and Khost province in eastern Afghanistan, said the Ministry of Interior Affairs in a statement Monday.
“The engineering teams of ANP following point-to-point search operations, managed to discover & defuse 11 roadside bombs in Kabul & Khost provinces,” said the MoIA in a tweet.
Security officials blame terrorist groups for targeting “innocent civilians” throughout Afghanistan, with many usually claimed by the Taliban insurgents.
“The terrorists had planted the bombs to target the innocent civilians,” the tweet added. “Police are committed to protect people.”
The Taliban, however, did not immediate comment on the incident. www.khaama.com/anp-defuses-11-roadside-mines-in-kabul-khost-34534/
